What we like

Le Lavancher is ideally situated between Chamonix-Mont-Blanc and Argentière. The name ”Lavancher” comes from the exceptional situation of the hamlet at the foot of the pine forest.

Restaurant Les Chalets de Philippe

5 minutes walk

Philippe, the charismatic owner of this quirky hotel, can host you for a private dinner in one of his traditional wooden chalets. To be arranged on request with pre-arranged fixed menu.

La Buvette du Chapeau

1 hour walk

For a special evening, walk up from the chalet to the Refuge du Chapeau (approximately 1 hour). You need to be equipped with headlights to walk up and down in the dark (and crampons in winter). Once you've arrived, Thierry will cook simple and heart-warming local food for you. He is also open for lunch all year round. Dinner by reservation only.

Le Rosebud

5 minutes walk

Gourmet restaurant at the Jeu de Paume Hotel, located in the heart of Lavancher. In a quiet, cozy and welcoming interior, Belgian chef Eric de Ganck offers an original and inventive cuisine around three themes: The World flavors, Region and Classics. It's the perfect place for a refined lunch or a gastronomic dinner.

La Maison Carrier

10 minutes drive

A classic brasserie part of the Albert 1er Hotel. You will find an excellent selection of traditional French and Savoyard food (and a fabulous cheese and dessert trolley) in a very cosy alpine setting. The hotel also has a two-star Michelin restaurant.

Le Refuge du Montenvers

10 minutes drive

A high altitude restaurant with cuisine of authentic flavour in a unique setting. Recently taken over by the Sibuet hotelier group (Les Fermes de Marie in Megeve, La Villa Marie in St Tropez, La Cour des Loges in Lyon), this mythical Refuge sits at the bottom of the world renowned glacier La Mer de Glace, reachable with the charming little red train Le Montenvers. Idealistic lunch spot with impressive views.

La Folie Douce

10 minutes drive

Four restaurants, a bar and a nightclub. A fun addition to Chamonix from the well known Folie Douce team. Best for large groups and families.

Private excursions

A trusted guide (member of the world-famous Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix Mont-Blanc) is available to organise expeditions, ski touring, off-piste skiing, climbing and other mountain related activities.

Winter sports

Chamonix-Mont-Blanc is the perfect destination for advanced winter sports enthusiasts with challenging black and red slopes and views of the most amazing mountain peaks. To step up your game, you will find the most amazing couloirs, walls and slopes off-piste. There is plenty of choice if you want to have a drink/bite or if you want to experience the French après-ski.
