Boulbon, France

This house dates from the 13th and 14th Century, it overlooks the village of Boulbon and the Rhône valley.

am designs renovated the house with high focus on authenticity and with respect for the past. The natural environment plays an important role for both inside and outside. There are many terraces on different levels due to the location near the Montagnette. The swimming pool is built against a reclaimed stone wall. For the interior, am designs used natural and traditional materials, handmade or according to local techniques.

What we like

The house is located in a typical Provençal village. Despite being a small village, Boulbon has several local shops like a bio shop, small supermarket, butcher, bakery, book shop, beauty salon... and it provides charming walking routes through its narrow streets and the Montagnette.

Within a range of 40 km, there are many well-known, typical Provençal places such as Avignon, Arles, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, les Baux-de-Provence, l’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Nîmes...

This hotel is an explosion of colour, light and contemporary design, thanks to the exceptional vision of Cuban artist Jorge Pardo. Visit the hotel’s restaurant for a seasonal menu of Mediterranean dishes, designed by starred chef Armand Arnal (La Chassagnette) or enjoy  a signature cocktail in its colourful bar. On Sundays, they offer an extended brunch menu.

Parc des Ateliers - Luma

The centerpiece of the campus Parc des Ateliers is the 56-meter tower, iconically designed by Frank Gehry. The tower houses workshop and seminar rooms, research facilities, studio spaces... The tower has eight differently shaped roof terraces on different floors.

Saint-Rémy-de-Provence

Well-known as Van Ghogh's biggest inspiration source, this elegant place is the home of many artists and celebrities and attracts plenty of visitors for its sophisticated simplicity and typical restaurants. The charming market town is characterized by its narrow streets, local cafés and restaurants and interior-design shops. Every Wednesday morning, there is a impressive and colorful market in the old streets of Saint-Rémy (herbs, spices, olives, oils, Fruits, vegetables, honey, flowers, fabrics, antiques...).

The village is officially classified and labelled as "one of the most beautiful villages in France". It is located in the heart of the Alpilles regional park. It is dominated by the ruins of the fortress and has charming cobbled alleys with beautifully restored Renaissance houses.

Carrières de Lumières

A multimedia show in which thousands of artworks are projected on the inside of an abandoned limestone quarry. Together with music that is specially composed for each exhibition, it results in an extraordinary and fascinating performance. There have been exhibitions about Van Gogh, Monet, Picasso, Chagall... A must-see when you plan a day trip to les Baux-de-Provence.

Camargue Natural Regional Park

The regional park comprises 86,300 hectares across the communes of Arles and Saintes Maries de la Mer. The facilities put in place for visitors (such as observation towers, information boards, themed trails, and guided tours) will enable you to discover the rich Camargue fauna and flora. This protected area has been designated by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve.
